New Year & New Beginning s

Hi Lovelies,

First of all Happy New Year to all ..

Its been awhile since I’ve wrote a blog post due to work , helping with getting a family business up and running (The Sausage Experience) & I suppose the main thing been “growing” a baby !!

For those of you that might not know I am 25 + weeks pregnant on my 2nd child … we are absolutely thrilled & so is Finn (1st Born )

But this pregnancy has taken a lot out of me since the day I did the test , I suppose I was so lucky on Finn I had no pregnancy side effects but on this one I’ve had everything I think that you could have with pregnancy!!

Where do I start – 24hr nausea yes ladies 24hr , I thought it was called “morning sickness” for a reason but I had it day & night for the first 12 weeks , I don’t know was I lucky or unlucky not to get sick but feeling sick 24hrs a day …

The tiredness in the first trimester was just unbelievable omg I never witnessed anything like it , I was tired on first born but nothing like this tiredness this time round . I know on the 2nd pregnancy you can’t rest as much as you have a little child that needs your attention.

Skin Break Out – yes I got that too , which I didn’t get on 1st Born my skin was glowing ! ( they say break out is sign of a girl that she is taking your beauty .. we will have to wait till early May to see if this is true )

And to top it off my blood type is Rhesus negative – so for those of you that haven’t heard of Rhesus negative it’s the symbol after your blood type , so I am A – if you are R negative it’s one to watch when pregnant , if you have a bleed or your bump gets a knock e.g you fall , someone runs into your bump you have to have an injection within so many hours of the bump or bleed happening so blood won’t mix with babies blood as the baby could be a different blood type and also if you want to have more children that your body won’t reject them … sure enough Finn bumped straight into the bump at 14 weeks so I was off to the emergency rooms of CUMH for the injection but all was fine ….

That’s my first 6 months of pregnancy for you in a nut shell !!!

I’m in my 2nd trimester now and so far it’s going well , only that my iron levels are low so trying my best to get them up by eating loads of red meat & on iron tonic ( trying to avoid Iron injections) and time is flying by , I think been pregnant over 2 years breaks it and it goes faster …

Gym Life @Rejuvenate Health & Fitness

Hello All , 

Hope your enjoying the lovely weather … So this week I was back full belt to Rejuvenate Heath & Fitness , I had taken a full week off due to holidays and last week I only got one personal training in !!

So with two personal trainings a week I try to do legs one day and upper body the other … This week Peter trained me for both days ..

Last night I did legs , I won’t lie , I did find it though going , my legs were like jelly after it , it was full on for the 30mins , going from one station to the next … I used some machines and then did squat jumps & worked with weights but still incorporating the legs ….


Today I did upper body , as you know I suffer from shoulder problems due to me work , so I did find today I had to ask Peter to bring down the weights as my shoulder isint great at the moment … So I usually lift 5kg but today he tried 6kg with me but I wasn’t able and I don’t want to push it Incase I do more damage …



I got weighted in last night after 2.5 weeks , I was thinking the scales might not be good to me as I had holidays and I was a little off track since I got back … But I have been getting walks & runs in so I was thrilled when Barry said I was down 1.4lbs … It gave me a boost and I’m back on track now again to shed a few more pounds !!

I was also down in body fat & up in muscle so overall I was happy with that … So back on the water & fruit again this week πŸ˜‰

Rejuvenate Health & Fitness – week 5Β 

Hello All ,

Hope your enjoying the long weekend … So I’ve another week down in Rejuvenate Health & Fitness … That was a fast month !! 

As you know I was away last weekend … Anyone following my snapchat (@frewenhickeyk) will have seen the crazy night I had 😁 it was brill to catch up with friends & I love Killarney always such a buzz there … 

When it came to food I was pretty good , I ate loads of fruit on the Saturday going down in car and drank loads of water !! I drank Gin for the night with a few shots thrown in πŸ˜‰ … We went to one of favourite restaurants to eat in Killarney The Poterhouse… Love the setting and food is always good here with a good menu !! I had chicken wings for starter and for mains I went for chicken ceased salad … Now guys if I wasn’t going to Rejuvenate there is no way I would have gone for a salad but I suppose it was on the back of my mind that I didn’t want to undo all the good work and dieting of the last 4 weeks in one weekend which could happen very easy … 

Chicken wings are amazing here !!

Sunday morning I was on the water straight away getting rehydrated and flushing the alcohol out of the system .. Didn’t do the whole shit food thing the day after , I enjoyed a nice toasted sandwich and that actually satisfied me … Drank loads of water coming home … 

So last week I decided to mix things up in training and do a spin & a personal training instead of two personal training ! 

I’ve done spin classes loads of times before in different gyms , I actually don’t mind spin !! I found the spin class in Rejuvenate Health & Fitness a little different from other spin classes , a lot of the class was on high intensity, which I didn’t know why , I was thinking oh god he just wants to kill us but no there was a reason ! It boosts your metabolism , blasts fat , and it improves your overall cardiovascular health … We also did some lower intensity sprints !!

Adrian also talked us through how to sit and stand on bike properly so it would benefit our core … 


On Thursday I did upper body with Adrian , so a lot of free hand weights , I am now up to 6kg , I started on 4kg … 


I got weighted Wednesday evening , I was dreading it after weekend , even though I was good food wise , alcohol can be a killer !! I was delighted when Barry said I had 1lb down … I was thrilled !! I do think all the water I drank helped and staying away from the bad food like breakfast roll , chips , crisps etc helped !! 

He also did my measurements after the 28 days and I am down 2.5 inches all round … 

So I’m hoping for another good weigh in next week … Going to try and get a bit more excerises in myself this week , some walks & maybe a swim …

Rejuvenate Health & Fitness – Week 4

Hello All ,

Hope you are all enjoying the warm weather unfortunately we’re not getting the sun as much as I thought we would !! 

So I’m into my fifth week of training at Rejuvenate Health & Fitness … Yesterday I did upper body with Emma , it was tough going I always find upper body hard after a day at work … Emma had new excerises planed out for me last night , I used some of the machines but in different ways as I normally would … 


I was back in this morning for my 2nd training of the week and it was legs !! Today’s training was a little different as it was one on one and it was with Paul who is the owner of Rejuvenate Health & Fitness .

I had never been trained by Paul as he works a lot of mornings and its usually evenings when I get to go …  When I realised it was one to one I was like oh shit I’m in for it !! Surprisingly enough I really enjoyed it , it was tough going , I had no where to hide or slack off as Paul counted out the time for all  excerises !! My legs were like jelly though after the 30mins !! But as the saying goes “No Pain , No Gain ” 


It was weigh in for me also today .. The bit I dread every week 😩 !! I am following the diet as good as I can … Even though I was partial to an aul ice cream or two this week!! 


So popped up on the scales and Paul entered the data into it .. So the data been my gender , age & height (I think ) and then it prints out the good & bad news πŸ˜‰ 

So for me this week I was up .4 of a lb but I was down 1.6 lbs of body fat which Paul was delighted … I was like I’m up .4 , and knowing that I’m going away for the weekend with the girls and I’ll be out eating& drinking I was like I’ll be up again next week … Paul said look your entitled to your few drinks & dinner and don’t be hard on yourself which kinda gave me a boost , just to choose wisely when it comes to drink ( alcohol) to keep it to clear drinks ( Vodka , Gin ) and diet mixers or slim line !! Sunday morning restart fresh again and get the water in …

I suppose like all of us women all we look at is the weight and want to get it down to a certain number we have in our head and yes I was like that until today … Paul explained it in more depth to me that the body fat is what I should be looking at , which I would have never had … So I was 36.6 now it’s 35 and I need to aim for 33 ! 

When chatting to Paul about it I said I’m not majorly bothered about the weight ( what scales read) I just want it to come down , look toned and feel good in my clothes!! All of them is happening for me thanks to the guys in Rejuvenate Health & Fitness

Post training today after 30 minutes of leg workout !! ( nice red head up on me )😜

Rejuvenate Health & Fitness – week 3

Hello All ,

Hope your having a good week ! So just a little update on my fitness & weight loss journey in Rejuvenate Health & Fitness… 


So I am onto week 4 of training but week 3 of weigh ins … So they have upped my weights in the last week and boy I can feel it … I could feel the burn after leg training  last week but that’s good cause I know the work out is doing me good … 

Last week I was really good with the food plan and stuck to it as much as I could and consumed my quota of 2.5 litres of water nearly every day … 

I find it easy to follow Monday to Friday but weekends can be kinda hard !! I was that girl that was use to take aways , bottle of wine , a meal out most weekends!! I have  been lucky that my social life has been quite the past few weekends so I’ve remained fairly focused … 

What I love about training is I don’t think I’ve done the same thing twice in there , all the personal trainers have different methods of training .. All getting same results but just doing it slightly different or adding in and extra thing every session !! 

Last week I did an excerise that I had never done before in any gym or personal training class … It was so awkward as I thought when they were showing me but once I got into it it was ok … Thanks to Emma & Barry who kept  me motivated till I completed it ….

How many times a week do I go & the cost ?

So this question has come up a bit from people who have read previous blog post … I go twice a week , I would love to be able to go three times but unfortunately I don’t have the time in the week to get three sessions in !! For two personal training sessions it’s €25 & for three I think is €35 …

I feel it’s well worth the €25 as I am seen results after three weeks … My clothes are becoming a bit looser on me which is always a good sign πŸ˜‰


I was weighed this morning and I’m thrilled to say I nailed it !! A 2lb weight lose … I was delighted .. I was hoping for 1.5lb but that little extra helps… My aim for next week is to be down another 1.5lbs …
